Sewer Collection and Storm

The sewer collection system consists of a network of main and service lines throughout the municipality. These lines, being a series of gravity-pressured pipes, flow to a ‘Sewage Lift Station’, where the sewage is lifted to a point were gravity is able to take over again. Sewers then flow into a lagoon system consisting of three ‘Anaerobic Cells’, then a ‘Facultative Cell’, and finally to an ‘Evaporation Pond’.

Milk River also maintains a complex storm sewer system, based on surface drainage. The network is based on gravity pressure as well, and feeds into the Milk River.
